Monique Lhuillier is a Filipino fashion designer is known all around the globe for her bridal wear. She was born in September 15, 1971 and grew up in Cebu City Philippines; she studied at Saint Theresa’s College continuing on to the Chateau Mont-Choisi finishing school in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Monique Lhuillier wanted to be a fashion designer so she enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising New York. She enjoyed the creative laboratory of design school and her final project featuring a bridal theme foreshadowed her future career path.

After completing her graduation she found a job with a sportswear maker Melivier and soon she came to realize that her job was not conductive to creative thinking.

She met Tom and plan the wedding and quit her job for getting married and after getting married with Tom Bugbee in 1996 she launched her iconic label because during the shopping of her wedding dress she realized that it is so difficult to find a required dress for the biggest day of life.

She felt that the bridal market is in need of some fresh blood because every bride dreams such a beautiful dress to make her bridal appearance elegant, gorgeous and unique so to keep all these things in mind she designed her first bridal gown that was so simple with spaghetti straps but had a stylish look and still a best seller.

Over the years Monique Lhuillier added different ideas incorporating more colors, more lightness and lace cut outs, deep v-necklines and some low back details.

At that time she also realized that brides are limited to what is available at local boutiques so Monique Lhuillier focused on this most important point and credits the internet for much of the evolution of bridal.

Now a bride can see a dress online and have it shipped to her next day and she can choose fashion forward silhouettes in different hues and lengths and even jumpsuits. Modern brides are not afraid to take risks and customize their bridal look to express their individual style.

In this post we are interested to share with you her latest spring ready to wear bridal dresses, she has a knack for subtle colors beyond white and ivory like this season’s latte and cappuccino hues and the new stand out shade was bluish pink as seen on a Chantilly lace bustier dress with an asymmetrical pleated tulle skirt. Florals were a recurring theme of this collection; scroll down to see the most beautiful dresses of this collection.
