Exclusive Outfits of Ritu Kumar on Her Panchvastra Collection

Ritu Kumar is one of the India’s foremost fashion designer. She has developed a unique style of her own and follows the ancient traditions of Indian craftsmanship in a latest collection. She organized a show named as Panchvastra and also represented her collection Panchvastra at her show. ‘Panchvastra’ meaning of five threads, the collection centers around five of the most important women (Ganga, Draupadi, Kunti, Amba and Gandhari) in Mahabharata.

This Ritu Kumar’s collection is an interpretation of these five women lives through the eyes of textiles and colors. This collection comprises Lehngas, anarkali, phulkari and sari and the actresses Anita Ratnam, Dia, Kirron Kher, Seema Biswas and Sushmita Sen presented these outfits as showstopper with glory and beauty. Let’s have a look! Gota work on anarkali, mainly off-whites defined the pure looks of Ganga. Sari with metallic neckpieces and red bindi on Diya reflected Draupadi character.

Kirron Kher represented Kunti in heavily embellished lehnga attire with mirror work. Seema Biswas with mélange of colors with the use of orange, red and fuchsia represent the Amba character. Last but not the least Sushmita Sen in an ivory and black stunning anarkali looked terrific on the ramp with her beautiful smile, represented her as Gandhari. All collection tells the stories of these five women.
